International Mandela Day
The South African High Commission is organising a series of activities to commemorate and create awareness about International Nelson Mandela Day in India.
These are summarised below:

10h00am – 12h30pm
Nelson Mandela International Day
Mr Ahmed Kathrada – Principal Guest Speaker: Hosted by the South African High Commission, the Gandhi Peace Foundation and the UN Office Delhi
Venue: India International Centre
Audience: 250 students from various schools across New Delhi
16h00pm – 17h30pm
Nelson Mandela International Day Commemorative Lecture
Mr Ahmed Kathrada: Hosted by the South African High Commission and Aspen Institute
Venue: India Habitat Centre
Audience: 350 guests ranging from political / civil / academia & diplomatic corp
21h00pm – 22h00pm
Inaugural Nelson Mandela Ride to India Gate via Nelson Mandela Marg
A 10km bicycle ride organised by the South African High Commission, TI Cycles of India and Delhi Cycles to create awareness about the Mandela Day Campaign, the benefits of cycling and to raise funds to purchase bicycles for Deepalaya an NGO working with underprivileged children in slums across Delhi.
